The next part is on prayer.      Oswald Chambers said:
The job of every Christian is to pray. To Him (Jesus) prayer is everything: It's a duty as well as a privilege, a right as well as a responsibility. We use prayer as a last resort; Jesus wants it to be our first line of defense. We pray when there's nothing else we can do; Jesus wants us to pray before we do anything at all. He wants us to pray always and about everything. He wants us to talk to Him, not about Him. He wants us to talk to Him about unbelievers before we talk to unbelievers about Him. Prayer is our holy occupation.
What is Prayer?
The American College Dictionary defines it as:
1. A devout petition to, or any form of spiritual communion with God.
2. Act, action, or practice of praying to God.
3. A spiritual communion with God, as in supplication, thankgiving, adoration, or confession.

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Psalm 72:15 And he (The Lord) shall live, and to him shall be given of the gold of Sheba: prayer also shall be made for him continually; and daily shall he be praised.
Luke 18:1 ought always to pray, and not to faint.

1 Thessalonians 5:17 Pray without ceasing.

Isaiah 56:7 ...for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.

Matthew 21:13 And said unto them, It is written, My house shall be called the house of prayer.
Is our house (temple) a house of prayer. We are the temple of the Holy Ghost (I Corinthians 3:16).
Because Jesus is our High Priest we can come boldly to the throne. Read Hebrews 4:14-16.
We are to pray to the Father in Jesus name.
John 15:16 Ye have not chosen me, but I have chosen you, and ordained you, that ye should go and
bring forth fruit, and that your fruit should remain: that whatsoever ye shall ask of the Father in my name, he may give it you

John 14:13 And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in
the Son.
Joh 14:14 If ye shall ask any thing in my name, I will do it
John 16:23 And in that day ye shall ask me nothing. Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall ask the Father in my name, he will give it you.
Joh 16:24 Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full. Joh 16:26 At that day ye shall ask in my name: and I say not unto you, that I will pray the Father for you: Joh 16:27 For the Father himself loveth you, because ye have loved me, and have believed that I came out from God.

The Prayer of Agreement:
Matthew 18:19 Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.
When we don't know what or how to pray for a situation, the Holy Spirit helps us.
Romans 8:26 Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.
Ro 8:27 And he that searcheth the hearts knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God
In Job 21:15 Job said, "The wicked say":
What is the Almighty, that we should serve him? and what profit should we have, if we pray unto him?
The next Scriptures answer these questions.
Job 22:27 Thou shalt make thy prayer unto him, and he shall hear thee, and thou shalt pay thy vows.
Jeremiah 29:12 Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. Jer 29:13 And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart.
Matthew 7:7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: Mt 7:8 For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened. Mt 7:9 Or what man is there of you, whom if his son ask bread, will he give him a stone?
Mt 7:10 Or if he ask a fish, will he give him a serpent?
Mt 7:11 If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children, how much more shall your Father which is in heaven give good things to them that ask him?
Also Luke 11:9-13.
1 John 5:14 And this is the confidence that we have in him, that, if we ask any thing according to his will, he heareth us:
1jo 5:15 And if we know that he hear us, whatsoever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we desired of him

Pray With Thanksgiving:
Philippians 4:6 - Be careful for nothing but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

Ephesians 5:18 - And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit;
Eph 5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord;
Eph 5:20 giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus

Be Humble And Repentant When We Pray:
Luke 18:10-14 - The Publican & the Pharisee. The Pharisee was boastful & bragging on himself, but the Publican said, God be merciful to me a sinner & would not even look up.
Verse 14. I tell you, this man (Publican) went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.

We Must Abide In Jesus & Believe When We Pray.
John 15:7 If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done
unto you.
Matthew 21:22 And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive
Some Hinderances To Prayers:
Mark 11:25 And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.
Mr 11:26 But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven forgive your trespasses

Doubt & Unbelief:
I Timothy 2:8 - Paul said, I will therefore that men pray everywhere, lifting up holy hands, without wrath and doubting.

Luke 12:29 - And seek not ye what ye shall eat or what ye shall drink, neither be ye of doubtful mind.

Hebrews 3:12 - Take heed brethren lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God
Ask In Faith & Don't Be Double-minded.
James 1:5 If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.
Jas 1:6 But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.
Jas 1:7 For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.
Jas 1:8 A double minded man is unstable in all his ways
We Must Ask, But Don't Ask For The Wrong Reasons.
James 4:2 Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not.
Jas 4:3 Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts

We Will Receive If We Obey.
1 John 3:22 And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

Our God wants to do things for His children. He said ask and it shall be done unto you (John 15:7).
He wants us to have communion (fellowship) with Him.
When God created man he had fellowship with him in the cool of the day.
Proverbs 15:8 ... the prayer of the upright is his (The Lord's) delight.
Psalm 5:2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King, and my God: for unto thee will I pray.
Ps 5:3 My voice shalt thou hear in the morning, O LORD; in the morning will I direct my prayer unto thee, and will look up
Psalm 55:17 Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice. (This is what Daniel did also.)

Samuel thought it would be sinning against God if he didn't pray for the children of Israel.
1 Samuel 12:23 Moreover as for me, God forbid that I should sin against the LORD in ceasing to pray for you: but I will teach you the good and the right way...

Psalm 141:2 Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
Ps 141:3 Set a watch, O LORD, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips
Matthew 6:5 And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
Mt 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
Mt 6:7 But when ye pray, use not vain repetitions, as the heathen do: for they think that they shall be heard for their much speaking.
Mt 6:8 Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him

Concerning The Lord's Prayer:
Jesus said to pray after this manner not to pray this exact prayer.
He was not into vain repetitions or long drug out prayers.
Mt 6:9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.
(1. Praise is the first part of prayer.)
Mt 6:10 Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
(2. Ask that the will of God is done in every situation in your life.)
Mt 6:11 Give us this day our daily bread.
(3. Ask for whatever you need.)
Mt 6:12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.
(4. Ask for forgiveness & forgive others.)
Mt 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil:
(5. Pray for deliverance from temptation & evil.)
For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.
(6. Praise God for the answer.)

Matthew 17:21 Howbeit this kind goeth not out but by prayer and fasting. The Lord was letting them know that their prayer life was lacking & they were not fasting.
These are just a few examples of prayer:
Jesus prayed for us in John 17:20 Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word. (Read the whole chapter)
Acts 12:5 Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
I Kings chapter 8 & II Chronicles chapter 6 is Solomon's prayer at the dedicating of the temple of God.
Job 42:10 And the LORD turned the captivity of Job, when he prayed for his friends: also the LORD gave Job twice as much as he had before.
I Samuel 2:1-10 Hannah's prayer & praise.

Isaiah 37:15-38 Hezekiah prayed and the Lord answered when Sennacherib came against Israel.
Hezekiah also prayed when he was sick unto death and the Lord gave him 15 more years.(Isaiah 38:1-5)
Matthew 14:23 And when he had sent the multitudes away, he went up into a mountain apart to pray: and when the evening was come, he was there alone.

Some things to pray about:
1 Timothy 2:1 I exhort therefore, that, first of all, supplications, prayers, intercessions, and giving of thanks, be made for all men;
1ti 2:2 For kings, and for all that are in authority; that we may lead a quiet and peaceable life in all godliness and honesty.
1ti 2:3 For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour.

Psalm 32:5 I acknowledged my sin unto thee, and mine iniquity have I not hid. I said, I will confess my transgressions unto the LORD; and thou forgavest the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
Ps 32:6 For this shall every one that is godly pray unto thee in a time when thou mayest be found

James 5:13 Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.
Jas 5:14 Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:
Jas 5:15 And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.
Jas 5:16 Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

Matthew 9:37 Then saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few;
Mt 9:38 Pray ye therefore the Lord of the harvest, that he will send forth labourers into his harvest.

Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you.

Psalm 122:6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.

There was a point when the Lord was fed up with some people because they had committed so many sins and idolatry. This is what He said:
Jeremiah 7:16 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up cry nor prayer for them, neither make intercession to me: for I will not hear thee.
Jeremiah 11:14 Therefore pray not thou for this people, neither lift up a cry or prayer for them: for I will not hear them in the time that they cry unto me for their trouble.
Jeremiah 14:10 Thus saith the LORD unto this people, Thus have they loved to wander, they have not refrained their feet, therefore the LORD doth not accept them; he will now remember their iniquity, and visit their sins.
Jer 14:11 Then said the LORD unto me, Pray not for this people for their good.
Jer 14:12 When they fast, I will not hear their cry; and when they offer burnt offering and an oblation, I will not accept them: but I will consume them by the sword, and by the famine, and by the pestilence.

1 John 5:16 If any man see his brother sin a sin which is not unto death, he shall ask, and he shall give him life for them that sin not unto death. There is a sin unto death: I do not say that he shall pray for it.
Perhaps this sin unto death was blasphemy of the Holy Ghost. I can't say for sure.
Jesus said in Mark 3:29 But he that shall blaspheme against the Holy Ghost hath never forgiveness, but is in danger of eternal damnation. There is no prayer that can save these people.
