Judges 17:6 In those days there was no king in Israel, but every man did that which was right in his own eyes. Also Judges 21:25.

Proverbs 30:12 There is a generation that are pure in their own eyes, and yet is not washed from their filthiness.

Proverbs 16:2 All the ways of a man are clean in his own eyes.

Proverbs 21:2 Every way of a man is right in his own eyes.

Proverbs 14:12 There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death.   Also Proverbs 16:25

This is a condition that is running rampant today. People do whatever they think is right or whatever
feels good.
The devil has lulled people to sleep by telling them they are all right. They don't need God.
You are a good person. You don't steal, kill, or do anything bad.

People say, "I believe in God". The devil believes in God too and he is not saved.
Just because you believe in God doesn't make you a Christian.
I could sit in a doctor's office all year and that wouldn't make me a doctor.

Proverbs 20:9 Who can say,I have made my heart clean, I am pure from my sin?

None of us! Jeremiah said this:
Jeremiah 10:23 O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

2 Corinthians 3:5 Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God.

Jesus said in John 15:5, Iam the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

We are all born under sin because of the transgression of Adam. It is only through the blood of Jesus
and the work He did on that cross that we can enter the family of God.
If we say we don't need Jesus it is like slapping Him in the face and saying, "I am good enough to make it on my own. I don't need you."
That is a lie from the father of lies: Satan.

When my daughter was about 2 years old, I decided I needed to go to church. I did. I even got baptized. Nothing changed in my life, because I didn't give my heart to Jesus. I was just going through the motions.
I would come home from church and swear like a sailor. I wasn't "Born Again".
I just went under the water, but didn't die out to the old man.

Once I truly repented and gave my heart to Jesus, I became the new creature that2 Corinthians 5:17speaks of. The Word of God opened up to me where before it made no sense to me.

People could see that I was different. A real change had taken place. God gave me a new heart and a desire to serve Him.

I have heard it said that we are the only Bible some people ever read.
What are they reading from our lives? I hope people can see my Father in me.

I found out you must "believe God", not just believe in God.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek (crave) him.

We also must do what The Word says.
The Bible says: Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission
of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost
. (Acts 2:38)

Romans 6:3 Know ye not, that so many of us as were baptized into Jesus Christ were baptized into
his death?
Ro 6:4 Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life

Repentance:  Represents Death.  You die out to the old nature.
Baptism:  Represents Burial.  You bury your past life and actions.
Holy Ghost:  Represents Resurrection.  You are raised in newness of life a new creature.

The Bible calls us fools if we do what is right in our own eyes. (Proverbs 12:15)

Isaiah 5:20 Woe unto them that call evil good, and good evil; that put darkness for light, and light for darkness; that put bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter!
Isa 5:21 Woe unto them that are wise in their own eyes, and prudent in their own sight
This is the result of being wise or right in our own eyes:
Isaiah 5:24 Therefore as the fire devoureth the stubble, and the flame consumeth the chaff, so their root shall be as rottenness, and their blossom shall go up as dust: because they have cast away the law of the LORD of hosts, and despised the word of the Holy One of Israel.

Our eyes can get us into trouble alot of times. In 1 John 2:16 it says:
For all that is in the world, thelust of the flesh, and the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, is not of the Father, but is of the world.

Here's how the Amplified Bible says this:
16 For all that is in the world--the lust of the flesh [craving for sensual gratification] and the lust of the eyes [greedy longings of the mind] and the pride of life [assurance in one's own resources or in the stability of earthly things]--these do not come from the Father but are from the world [itself].

We are not to trust in our own ability in this world. We are to trust God and walk in His ways.

These next Scriptures tell us what to do and the blessing it brings.

Proverbs 3:5 Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; andlean not unto thine own understanding.
Pr 3:6 In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.
Pr 3:7Be not wise in thine own eyes: fear the LORD, and depart from evil.
Pr 3:8It shall be health to thy navel, and marrow to thy bones

I feel like the Lord is saying this to this generation:
Deuteronomy 12:8 Ye shall not do after all the things that we do here this day, every man whatsoever is right in his own eyes.

Let us hearken to the same words that the Lord told Israel in Numbers 15:39:
Seek not after your own heart and your own eyes, but remember, and do all My Commandments, and be holy unto your God.

Solomon summed it up in this next Scripture:
Ecclesiastes 12:13 Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

Christ asks you for nothing-
Come just as you are;
Come sinful, come guilty,
Come give Him your heart.
