Matthew 5:6 Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.

Hunger: Strong's: to crave ardently, to seek with eager desire.

Thirst: Strong's: eagerly long for, those things by which the soul is refreshed, supported, strengthened.

Righteousness: Strong's: integrity, virtue, purity of life, rightness, correctness of thinking feeling, and acting - the condition acceptable to God.

Filled: Strong's: to fulfil or satisfy the desire of any one.

Hebrews 11:6 But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek (crave) him.

Romans 8:32 He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?

Psalm 84:11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield: the LORD will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

Luke 1:53 He hath filled the hungry with good things.

Luke 6:21 Blessed are ye that hunger now: for ye shall be filled.

Psalm 107:9 For he satisfieth (fills) the longing (thirsty) soul, and filleth the hungry soul with goodness.

These Scriptures tell us that if we are hungry for the things of God we will be filled with them. If we walk in the will of God He will bless us abundantly so we can be a blessing to others.

Colossians 3:1 If ye then be risen with Christ, seek (crave) those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.
Col 3:2 Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth.

Isaiah 26:8 Yea, in the way of thy judgments, O LORD, have we waited for thee; the desire (appetite) of our soul is to thy name, and to the remembrance of thee.
Isa 26:9 With my soul have I desired (craved) thee in the night; yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early.

In Matthew chapter 6 Jesus said to take no thought about what you eat, drink, or wear. Then He said in6:33, But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.

I have found that reading God's Word is a new experience everyday. You can read the Word over and over and each time you will find something that you missed before. God will open up your understanding to what you are reading.

1 Peter 2:1 Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,
1pe 2:2 As newborn babes, desire
(long for) the sincere milk of the word, that ye may grow thereby:
1pe 2:3 If so be ye have tasted that the Lord is gracious.

That is a mouthful right there. God wants us to grow. The more Word we put into our hearts the more we grow spiritually. The trouble is alot of Christians are undernourished because they haven't been eating right. They have been filling up on what the world says and thinks and not feeding on the Word of God.
Alot of people throw their Bible in the backseat of their car from one service to the next. The only time they get any Word is in church. They starve their spirit man all week. One preacher said, "Alot of people feed their bodies 3 hot meals a day and feed their spirit man one cold snack a week."

1 Corinthians 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
1co 3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
1co 3:3 For ye are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are ye not carnal, and walk as men?

Hebrews 5:12 For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat.
Heb 5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe.
Heb 5:14 But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.

When we are young Christians we are prone to be emotional. What I mean is we let every little thing hurt our feelings. We do not fully understand that it is not the people that is the problem. There is a real devil out there using people's mouths just like he did with Peter. Jesus looked at Peter one day and said, "Get thee behind me Satan." The devil was using Peter's mouth to speak the words he wanted Peter to say.
When we become mature Christians we are not so easily upset about what people say or do. We know the source they are coming from.
I heard one preacher say, "You need to have a heart like butter, and skin like a rhino." I think that is so true.

Psalm 42:1 As the hart panteth after (longs for) the water brooks, so panteth my soul after thee, O God.
Ps 42:2 My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall I come and appear before God?

Psalm 63:1 A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Judah. O God, thou art my God; early will I seek thee: my soul thirsteth for thee, my flesh longeth for thee in a dry and thirsty land, where no water is.

Psalm 143:6 I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.

We should be like David. He was hungry and thirsty for God. He knew where his help came from.

Isaiah 55:1 Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price.
Isa 55:2 Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness.

John 6:35 And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.

John 4:14 But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.

John 7:37 In the last day, that great day of the feast, Jesus stood and cried, saying, If any man thirst, let him come unto me, and drink.

Jesus is the Bread of Life & The Living Water because He is the Word manifested in the flesh (John 1:1 & 14). We can partake of the things of God for free: No charge.

Revelation 21:6 And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.

Revelation 22:17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

2 Chronicles 15:15 And all Judah rejoiced at the oath: for they had sworn with all their heart, and sought him with their whole desire; and he was found of them: and the LORD gave them rest round about.

Nehemiah 8:1 And all the people gathered themselves together as one man into the street that was before the water gate; and they spake unto Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, which the LORD had commanded to Israel.

These people in Nehemiah were hungry for the Word of God. They stood to hear the Word from morning to midday.

Amos 8:11 Behold, the days come, saith the Lord GOD, that I will send a famine in the land, not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD:
Am 8:12 And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

Amos said there will be a famine of hearing God's Word. That is why we must hide the Word of God in our hearts. Fill up on It.
Some people want to bury Bibles. Their thinking was that people would try to take the Word from us. The only place to bury the Word of God is in our hearts, that way no one can take It from us. Dave had a message called: Saturate With The WORD Not The World.

This is my prayer for all of us:
Psalm 27:4 One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house (family) of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.

God's Word is meat indeed.
