Deuteronomy 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:
De 30:20 That thou mayest love the LORD thy God, and that thou mayest obey his voice, and that thou mayest cleave unto him: for he is thy life, and the length of thy days: that thou mayest dwell in the land which the LORD sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give them.
John 1:1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
Joh 1:2 The same was in the beginning with God.
Joh 1:3 All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. Joh 1:4 In him (Jesus - The Word) was life; and the life was the light of men.
Jesus, God, & His Word are One. God is a Spirit and they that worship Him must worship Him in Spirit and Truth. In Him was life and He is Life.
John 6:63 It is the spirit that quickeneth; the flesh profiteth nothing: the words that I speak unto you, they are spirit, and they are life.
Hebrews 4:12 For the word of God is quick (alive), and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
Hebrews 1:3 says Jesus is upholding all things by the word of his power.

Pr 4:22 For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh.
Pr 4:23 Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.
In Ezekiel 37 Ezekiel prophesied to the dry dead bones the Word of the Lord. They lived. But we think our problems are too big for God sometimes. Most of the time we believe God to deliver, but at the same time we annul His Word by our own words. We speak doubt and unbelief.
In Matthew 13:58 & Mark 6:5 Jesus could do no mighty works in His hometown because of their unbelief.
We are priests. The Lord said we were in Exodus 19:6: And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation.
1 Peter 2:5 Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.
1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should show forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:
1pe 2:10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.
Revelation 1:6 (Talking of Jesus) And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.
Revelation 5:10 (Talking of Jesus) And hast made us unto our God kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
Revelation 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
The priest could speak blessing or cursing upon people. What are we saying over our children and about ourselves?
Proverbs 18:21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
Matthew 12:34 O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.
Luke 6:45 A good man out of the good treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart bringeth forth that which is evil: for of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaketh.
We need to be saying words of encouragement & faith to ourselves, our children, and to one another.
Ephesians 5:19 Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord.
The Word says in Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things are honest, whatsoever things are just, whatsoever things are pure, whatsoever things are lovely, whatsoever things are of good report; if there be any virtue, and if there be any praise, think on these things.
Philippians 4:8 sounds like it is describing the Word of God. If you think on these things and keep them in your heart that is what will come out of your mouth.
Abraham was told to offer Isaac on the altar. But he told his servants, "The lad and I will go worship and come again." He knew Isaac was the child of promise. He believed God could raise him from the dead if necessary, and he spoke it.
Mark 11:22 And Jesus answering saith unto them, Have faith in God.
Mr 11:23 For verily I say unto you, That whosoever shall say unto this mountain, Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in his heart, but shall believe that those things which he saith shall come to pass; he shall have whatsoever he saith.
Mr 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them.
This Scripture talks about our saying. Say to the mountain, believe what you say, you shall have what you say.
In Matthew 21:19, Jesus had, just the day before, cursed the fig tree and it dried up from the roots. In verse 21 He told them if they would have faith and doubt not they could do the same.
James chapter 3 talks about the tongue.
James 3:8 But the tongue can no man tame; it is an unruly evil, full of deadly poison.
But we can bring our tongue under subjection to the Word of God. If His Word abides in us and is the abundant thing in our hearts, then that is what will come out of our mouths. That is what we just read in Matthew 12:34 & Luke 6:45.
Here are some Scriptures that talk about our words.
Proverbs 6:2 Thou art snared (trapped) with the words of thy mouth, thou art taken (captured) with the words of thy mouth. This Scripture says we are trapped and taken captive by our words.
Proverbs 23:7 For as he thinketh in his heart, so is he.
2 Corinthians 10:5 says Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ.
If we cast down imaginations & thoughts that are against the Word of God we will not be trapped by our words.
Proverbs 12:18 ....the tongue of the wise is health.
Proverbs 15:4 A wholesome tongue is a tree of life: but perverseness therein is a breach in the spirit.
Our words can help someone.

Or our words can wound.
Proverbs 18:8 The words of a talebearer are as wounds, and they go down into the innermost parts of the belly.
Proverbs 13:3 He that keepeth his mouth keepeth his life: but he that openeth wide his lips shall have destruction.
Matthew 12:37 For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.
Matthew 15:18 But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart; and they defile the man.
We are born again by the Word.
1 Peter 1:23 Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.
James 1:18 Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.
We are programmed from the time we are born to be negative and to rely on the world. When we are born again we are to be different from the world. We don't talk, act, or even look like the world.
Ephesians 4:22 That ye put off concerning the former conversation (behavior-conduct) the old man, which is corrupt according to the deceitful lusts;
Eph 4:23 And be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
Eph 4:24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
Let's stay in the Word of God every day. It is our life and it will control what comes out of our mouths. Our words will be filled with life, encouragement, and may cause someone to turn to the Lord.
