|Jesus Our Chief Cornerstone and The Word of God|

This is the starting point:

1 Corinthians 3:11 For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Isaiah 28:16 Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, a tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: he that believeth shall not make haste.

Ephesians 2:19 Now therefore ye are no more strangers and foreigners, but fellowcitizens
with the saints, and of the household of God;
20 And are built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, Jesus Christ himself being the chief corner stone;
21 In whom all the building fitly framed together groweth unto an holy temple in the Lord:
22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

1 Peter 2:6 Wherefore also it is contained in the scripture, Behold, I lay in Sion a chief corner stone,
 elect, precious: and he that believeth on him shall not be confounded.
7 Unto you therefore which believe he is precious: but unto them which be disobedient, the stone
which the builders disallowed, the same is made the head of the corner,
8 And a stone of stumbling, and a rock of offence, even to them which stumble at the word,
 being disobedient: whereunto also they were appointed.

Repent and ask Jesus into your heart.
By faith and the drawing of the Holy Ghost we come to Jesus.

John 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of
the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.

Baptism is an essential part of salvation. Jesus was baptized by John the Baptist.

Acts 2:38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of
Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off,
even as many as the Lord our God shall call.

2 Corinthians 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature:
 old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Mark 16:16 He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.

We are sealed by the Holy Ghost.

Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the Word of Truth, the Gospel of your
 salvation: in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession,
 unto the praise of his glory.

Holy Spirit: Comforter - Intercessor - Counselor - Advocate - Teacher - Guide -
Also called the Spirit of Truth

John 14:16, 17, 26 - And I will pray the Father and he shall give you another Comforter that he may abide with you for ever. Even the Spirit of Truth whom the world cannot receive because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him: for he dwelleth with you and shall be in you. But the comforter, which is the Holy Ghost whom the Father will send in my name he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance,
 whatsoever I have said unto you.

The Holy Ghost is necessary to understand the things of God.

I Corinthians 2:9-12 - But as it is written, Eye hath not seen nor ear heard, neither have entered
into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.
10 But God hath revealed them unto us by His Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.
11 For what man knoweth the things of a man, save the spirit of man which is in him? Even so the things of God knoweth no man, but the Spirit of God. Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit which is of God: that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

John 8:31 Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him,
If ye continue in my Word, then are ye my disciples indeed;
32 And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

Romans 8:26 & 27 - Likewise the Spirit also helpeth our infirmities: for we know not what we should pray for as we ought: but the Spirit itself maketh intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. And he that searcheth the heart knoweth what is the mind of the Spirit, because he maketh intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Infirmities here means feebleness of body or mind - frailty - weakness.

The Holy Ghost produces fruit.

Galatians 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.

The Bible says we are known by our fruits. (Matt. 7:16)

Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.

Ephesians 1:13 In whom ye also trusted, after that ye heard the word of truth, the Gospel of your salvation:
 in whom also after that ye believed, ye were sealed with that Holy Spirit of promise,
14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession,
unto the praise of his glory.

By faith and the drawing of the Holy Ghost we come to Jesus.

The Bible says in Hebrews 12:2 that Jesus is the Author and Finisher of our faith.
Romans 12:3 says that God has given every one the measure of faith.

After we build a good foundation, we are to add things to our faith.

Peter says and besides this (the promises), giving all diligence
(Haste - Earnestness), add to your faith:

Read II Peter 1:1-11
1   Simon Peter, a servant and an apostle of Jesus Christ, to them that have obtained like precious faith
with us through the righteousness of God and our Saviour Jesus Christ:
2 Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,
3 According as His divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness,
 through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:
4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.
5 And beside this, giving all diligence,add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;
6 And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;
7 And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity
8 For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor
 unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ
9 But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath
forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.
10 Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure:
 for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall
11 For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom
 of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

Peter says God has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness.
He has also given us exceeding great and precious promises and by them we can be
partakers of the divine nature.

2 Corinthians 7:1 Having therefore these promises, dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God.

These promises? What promises?
 Let's back up to chapter 6 verses 16-18.

16 And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said,
 I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people.
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the
 unclean thing; and I will receive you,
18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.

There is a condition to the promises. We have to "be separate".
We should not look like or act like the world.
The world should see Jesus' character in us.

Hebrews 13:15 By Him (Jesus) therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually,
that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His name.

If these things are in you and abound (Exist in abundance or increase), you won't be barren
(lazy or idle) or unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Make your calling and election sure
