Psalm 77:14 Thou art the God that doest wonders; thou hast declared thy strength among the peoples.
Psalm 77:15 Thou hast with [thine] arm redeemed thy people, the sons of Jacob and Joseph. Selah.
Psalm 77:16 The waters saw thee, O God, the waters saw thee; they trembled, yea, the depths were troubled,
Psalm 77:17 The thick clouds poured out water; the skies sent out a sound, yea, thine arrows went abroad:
Psalm 77:18 The voice of thy thunder was in the whirlwind, lightnings lit up the world; the earth was troubled and it quaked.
Psalm 77:19 Thy way is in the sea, and thy paths are in the great waters; and thy footsteps are not known
Psalm 77:19 New Living Translation Your road led through the sea, your pathway through the mighty waters— a pathway no one knew was there!

What that lets me know is that God has a way out of my impossible circumstance that no one has seen, and even I don't know about yet.

This scripture in Psalms takes my mind back to the book of Exodus the 14th chapter when God led the children of Isreal out of Egypt and they came to the Red Sea.
It seemed there was no path to escape, but God had a path no one knew was there; a way that was hidden until the children of Isreal stopped complaining and followed God's instruction to move forward. Then God opened up the way for them.

I want to tell you the only way out of their trouble was the path that God made. They either went God's way or they went back into bondage and death.
Pharaoh would have either made them slaves again or killed them, but God showed them a way out.

Sometimes God shows us the way out of our trouble, but we don't want to take God's path. We want to follow our own desires. We want God to just make our way work.

Listen to me. God did something that had never been heard of before.
Do you think for one minute that God can't do something in your situation that has not been done before?

Just because you don't see a path right now doesn't mean it isn't there.

Isreal didn't know that the thing that looked impossible in their life had a path running through it. A path that no one knew was there and had never been there before for any one else. A way only God knew about because he alone created it.

In 2 Kings chapter 4 verse 1-7 we find the account of a widow whose husband has passed away and she is left with debt that she can't pay. The creditors are coming to take her sons as slaves, so she calls on the man of God, Elisha, for Godly instruction.
Now at this point there is no way out of her trouble, and Elisha doesn't have the money to pay her debt either. But God is about to uncover the path of escape to her and her family. A way that no one has seen. God is about to reveal a path right through the middle of her impossable situation. She believes what she has is small and couldn't make a difference, but her instruction is to pour it out into other vessels, and when she does it begins to multiply.

What you have is enough for God if you will surrender it.

But let's get back to our text in Psalms 77:19.
Psalm 77:19 Thy way is in the sea, and thy paths are in the great waters; and thy footsteps are not known
Psalm 77:19 New Living Translation Your road led through the sea,
your pathway through the mighty waters a pathway no one knew was there!

God is telling us in these verses, and in this story, that just because we don't see a way out doesn't mean it's not there. It doesn't mean He can't create one.
There is a path running through the middle of your situation, your trial. There is a way of escape in every circumstance you face.

1 Corinthians 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

God has brought me through every challenge that I would choose His way out of.
You see there is the key. Are we going to choose the path that God has created or just keep to our own.

In I Chronicles 14:8-11 you can find the Philistines gathered against David.
They assembled themselves in a place called Rephaim, that means the Valley of Giants. But God gave David such a victory there they called the place from then on Baalperazim:

Sometimes we don't like the path God has laid out for our victory because it runs right in the middle of the valley of giants.

Will we be led by the Holy Spirit or led by our own knowledge or man's understanding; controlled by man's word or God's, or maybe by our own desires?

The Holy Ghost is sent as a Comforter and a Helper, but He is also sent as a Guide.
A guide can't help if we won't follow.
Too many times:
We ask our friends what we should do.
We ask our doctor what we should do.
   We ask the lawyer.
   We ask the pastor.
But haven't asked the Lord of Glory. Or we have asked, but either didn't listen for the answer or didn't like it. Sometimes there is a clear answer in the written Word, but it is not the one we want.

Psalm 124:6 Blessed be the LORD, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.
Psalm 124:7 Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.
Psalm 124:8 Our help is in the name of the LORD, who made heaven and earth.

Some of us here are dealing with some situations… Some feelings of helplessness and hopelessness… We are dealing with feelings of lack and feelings of loneliness…
We are dealing with financial issues... physical issues..., and yes, even spiritual issues in our lives. It is these issues that are messing with our minds… Messing with our character... and messing with our relationship with the Lord.

Sometimes we stay in our old circumstance because we are unwilling to change, unwilling to turn loose of some things.

Proverbs 28:13 He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.

You can't be a worldly believer and expect supernatural breakthrough.
What I mean by that is , if you spent all your time fellowshiping with the world you will aways be looking for the worldly path out of your trouble. But if you will fellowship with Jesus and have union (agreement) with His Word you will begin to, by faith, look for the supernatural path He has prepared. Holding on to the spirit of the world will stop the blessing of God in your life.
Holding on to the past can keep you from your future.

Isaiah 42:9 Behold, the former things are come to pass, and new things do I declare: before they spring forth I tell you of them.

Listen to me right now. If you are here tonight, and friend I know in my spirit that you are, and you are ready to have a breakdown God is offering you a breakthrough.
If you are here and you don't know Jesus as your Savior, He is reaching out his hands to you.
There is a way out of your trouble and Jesus said, "I Am the Way." On a rugged cross tortured and beaten, bruised and dying Jesus poured out his life to make a way for you; a bridge that spans all the way from breakdown to breakthrough.

Our opening text said He is a God that does wonders.
A God that redeems.
A God that makes a way when the way can't be seen.
Why not choose Gods path now?
